Cape York

Day 2

Up early at this morning and we leave Micheal and Fiona’s for the first of a few big days in the car, killing some kilometres. A quick stop for fuel and we are on the Bruce highway, with the tip of australia set as our destination. We have an uneventful run up the highway, stopping at Childers for ice cream at about 10:30am. Yes I know, too early for ice cream, but not this icecream.  http://www.mammino.com.au

I got a vanilla and Bailey Irish cream flavour and Lyndall got the Jaffa and macadamia flavour. I know by the photo  that Lyndall enjoyed hers more then me.

Icecream had we hit the road. The plan today is to get North of Rockhampton.  The drive get be very boring at times but we seem to be making good time.. Traffic is good, minimal roadworks, truckies, caravaners and cars all seem to be playing nice. By about 2 ish we are well over due for some lunch so pull into Mt Larcom. Lunch today is some cheese, ham, tomato and cucumber sandwich. After lunch its back to the blacktop at we have a plan to get to St Lawerence if we can, we finally get to Rockhampton, and after a quick fuel stop head north, again.  About 5:20 we pull into St Lawrence Recreation reserve and find a spot for the night. Showers are good and we get dinner going and hit the sack pretty quick. It’s been a big day
