Wed/ Thursday and Friday. 26/27th and 28th

Today we got up and checked out after a great night and day at Jenolan Caves. We decided to have breakie in the car. We drove back to Mt victoria to pick up the trailer. Today we are heading to Port Macquarie to catch up with a mate of ours. We left Mt victoria were it was a bit windy and cold and a bit of high up fog. Travelling via the darling causeway and bells line of rd we hit some rain and fog around the Mt tomah/ Bilpin area before making our way down the hill into richmond/windsor. I decided we would just go up the hwy today as we wanted to get to Port as early as possible. We had a really good run and stopped for a top up of fuel around Raymond Terrace, before stopping for lunch at a rest stop further up the rd. We pushed into Port and arrived at around 3pm, before going to the closest van park to our friends house. We have Mick a call after we set the trailer up and showered and he came and picked us up for a BBQ at his house. Great night had. Thanks for the invite Mick.

Thursday
Thursday morning saw us awake to more rain, it did stop long enough to dry canvas and pack up. Once we did that we rang Mick who had just finished a job in the morning so he meet us in town. We wandered around in the rain again for a while having a look, till lunch where we went to a nice tavern and had an awesome $10 feed.

After lunch we said goodbye to Mick and hit the road north. Plan was somewhere north of coffs, as we had 2 nights to get back home. The rain seemed to follow us, and by the time we came into coffs it was pouring down with visibility right down and people swerving and generally driving bad, we decided it was time to get off the rd. We stopped for a top up of fuel and found a place to stay. I picked a caravan park at emerald beach based on nice new amenities apparently. So off we go, found the place which is a big 4, and s not used to caravan park style camping before this trip, we paid and got our site. Well we were shoved in between people who looked like they had been there a month and the sites were that small we barely fitted our trailer and car on it. Anyway we decided to stay as it started raining again and we figured we would just have a night in the trailer. We went for a quick wander down to the beach, Then back for dinner and bed.

Next morning we woke to an overcast morning, so we quickly packed up and hit the rd about 8 am. The rain then started again, so we decided that we would just head straight home a day early, with a stop in Yamba to have a look around.

We got home just in time to get the dogs from the kennel and started the clean up and unpack of car and trailer.

That’s it for this trip. We had a ball seeing everyone and spending time with family. See you all later!
